THE MONTAGE BLADE

Montage Enterprises has been selling quality replacement blades for over 30 years, specializing in a variety of custom-designed cutting blades unique to the flail mower market. We offer both standard “STAMPED” blades as well as our own “FORGED” blade line which is available in three designs, including a uniquely engineered and tested “full” cutting edge blade.

Montage Enterprises’ replacement flail blades utilize a specially selected material which, in conjunction with the “forged” process, produces a blade with superior wear properties -- a better performing blade which also lasts significantly longer. The process used in creating Montage’s “forged” flail blades provides an advanced durable alternative to the more conventional “stamped” replacement products offered by other vendors -- and refinements in the manufacturing process allows Montage to sell these superior “forged” blades at a lower cost than their “stamped” blade counterparts.

WHY FORGINGS?

Structural integrity in a forged blade is greater than achieved by any other manufacturing process

Forging metals reduces the gas pockets and/or voids that can lead to unexpected failure when the blade is under great stress or encounters sudden impact

Structural integrity inherent in the forging process creates a blade that responds predictably to its operating environment and is therefore much safer

Recrystallization and grain refinement of the metal occur in the forging process, producing a blade with maximum strength and minimum variation in blade properties

WHY ALL EDGE?

Cutting with the full edge of the blade minimizes the phenomenon known as grass wrap, a condition that causes a decrease in rotor speed and results in poor overall performance
